ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, as been hit with a widespread outage, affecting thousands of users all across the globe.
As per Downdetector, a web oputage tracking site, outages affecting OpenAI services began around 10:30 a.m. ET, with a significant spike reported within an hour, reaching over 40,000 reports.
As per the platform, nearly 80% users are unable to access the platform, while 7% users are experiencing issues while accessing the app, and the remaining 1% have lodged Codex related issues.
OpenAI status page shows fix 'underway'
The OpenAI status page says it has applied a fix and is “monitoring the recovery” after 24 minutes of downtime across ChatGPT and Codex.
Gemini, Claude, Grok and other services down
Alongside ChatGPT, other services such as Gemini users also reported an outage; however, Google has yet to officially address it.
Meanwhile, Claude also started experiencing outage, with issues directly affecting Claude Sonnet 5, while a second wave hit many more models, including Mythos/Fable 5.1 and Opus 5.
Anthropic fixes Claude AI outage
The Claude AI manufacturer claimed it has issued a fix for its consistent outage.
The Elon-Musk owned Grok also appears to be down, alongside the smaller AI agent service Cursor, with both seeing spikes on Downdetector, leaving users frustrated with the chatbot.
