Mohit Suri is gearing up to bring a thrilling story to life.
On Sunday, September 13, Pinkvilla reported that the Aashiqui 2 director has joined forces with filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma for a two-hero gangster movie, set to be produced by Yash Raj Films.
As per the update, the director, whose last project Saiyaara starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda made waves at the box office, has been presented with the script, to which he instantly connected and has now decided to helm the movie as it will allow him to explore a different category than what he has worked on before.
"Mohit really loved the script and felt that it was something he wanted to take forward as a director. The story has the kind of gangster world and characters that allow him to explore a different space," a source told the outlet.
Moreover, the script has been penned by Ram Gopal Varma, who has explored the gangster world several times throughout his career.
The exciting project is set to combine Varma’s gripping writing and Suri’s intense directorial style, promising a truly thrilling experience.
As per the insiders, the untitled movie will focus on two protagonists, with the Ek Villain director keen on bringing two top stars on board for the roles.
The casting process is expected to kick off soon, with major names likely to be considered for the project.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, the tipster added, "Mohit wants two big names to headline the film. Both characters are equally important to the story, so the idea is to cast two top stars who can bring the required intensity to the roles. Discussions around the casting will happen in the coming months.”
It was also shared that the thrilling action movie is expected to go on floors by the end of 2027.
