The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is set to introduce flying cars by 2025.
The flying cars will be operated completely over water through vertical airports (vertiports) in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The Khaleej Times has reported that Falcon O, UAE based aviation services, will build the vertiports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi by collaborating with the US electric flying carmaker ‘Archer.’
The vertiports will be connected through Archer’s Midnight, a four-passenger and a piloted designed aircraft that will perform quick consecutive flights with minimum charge time.
The primary vertiports will be constructed in Dubai at Falcon Heliport at Atlantis the Palm and in Abu Dhabi’s Corniche at Marina Mall heliport.
The electric air taxi flight will cut the 60-90-minute car commute to around 10-30 minutes.
The passengers will enjoy the scenic views of the cities safely with low voice and price competitive with ground transport.
Adam Goldstein the founder and CEO of Archer said, “We look forward to paving the way for the introduction of our Midnight aircraft to the region which will set the stage for the UAE to become a global leader in urban air mobility.”
This venture will be Archer's first international launch.
