Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo received a direct red card for elbowing an Al-Hilal player during the Saudi Super Cup semi-final on Monday, April 8th.
According to The Sun, Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo became frustrated as his team fell behind 2-0 before tensions escalated.
After the ball went out of play, Al-Hilal defender Ali Al-Bulayhi tried to stop Ronaldo from quickly retrieving the ball for a throw-in after it went out of play.
When Ronaldo pushed him aside, Al-Bulayhi seemed to confront him.
At this juncture, the five-time Ballon d'Or recipient appeared to forcefully hit his opponent's chest with his elbow.
After this, the referee issued a straight red card to the Portuguese superstar.
The former Real Madrid player mimicked throwing the ball at the referee before sarcastically giving him a thumbs up after receiving a red card.
Al-Hilal fans then taunted Ronaldo with Messi chants as he left the field.
However, Sadio Mane managed to score for Al Nassr in the 99th minute, but it was not enough as Al-Hilal survived the late drama to advance to the final.
In Thursday's final against Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal will be aiming for their fourth Saudi Super Cup title.
