Rohit Sharma created history by scoring two centuries in IPL for MI

Rohit Sharma created history once again in the Indian Premier League (ILP) on Sunday, April 14, in a match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Sharma became the first player in the world to score two centuries in the IPL for Mumbai Indians (MI).

The Indian captain achieved this feat at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai during his team’s sixth match of the league.

The MI opener faced 63 balls and remained unbeaten on 105 runs. He hit 11 fours and 5 sixes during his innings.

Moreover, the 36-year-old right-handed batter has been associated with the MI since IPL 2011.

As per Times Now, during his 105 runs knock, Shrama achieved few other milestones as well. His five sixes helped him to become the first Indian batter to hit 500 sixes in T20.

In addition to that, Rohit’s recent century marked his eighth in the T20 format.

Now, only Chris Gayle from West Indies (22), Babar Azam from Pakistan (11) and his teammate Virat Kohli (9) are ahead of him in the most centuries in the shortest format of the game.

Sharma made his first IPL century for MI, on May, 12, 2024 against Kolkata Knight Rider at Eden Garden, he remained unbeaten on 109 runs from 60 balls.
