A British-American actress, Anya Taylor-Joy, recently shared her excitement about watching Lionel Messi lift the 2022 FIFA World Cup for Argentina and expressed her desire to meet the football legend.
In an interview with King Kabawo TV, Taylor-Joy reminisced about the thrilling experience of watching the World Cup final between Argentina and France on December 18, 2022, in Los Angeles.
She mentioned it was 6am in LA and yet she couldn't keep calm during the thrilling showdown.
Anya said, "I want to meet Messi. Also because I was in Los Angeles watching the World Cup and that moment, thank you for talking about that. I couldn't sit down."
She further added," I was walking like that (back and forth) and, yes, I woke up all my friends who watched it with me because it was, I think, at six in the morning in Los Angeles. It was a match!"
The 28-year-old actress was born in Miami, Florida, where Messi currently resides and plays for the MLS club Inter Miami.
Anya has a connection to the football star, as she is partly of Argentine descent and has spent some of her childhood in Buenos Aires.
Moreover, she has achieved significant recognition in the entertainment industry, securing prestigious awards such as the Golden Globe Award and the Screen Actors Guild Award.
