Open AI rejects using Scarlett Johnson's voice claims

Open AI did not use Scarlett Johnson's voice in ChatGPT as the recent report dispelled the allegations.

The Black Widow starlet claimed that the AI company copied her voice after she denied a request by CEO Sam Altman to license it.

Meanwhile, Altman shared his response in a statement that OpenAI “never intended” the voice feature similar to Scarlett Johansson.

He stated that a voice actor had been chosen before he got in touch with her.

A report in The Washington Post claimed that when “OpenAI issued a casting call last year for a secret project to endow OpenAI’s popular ChatGPT with a human voice, the flier had several requests: The actors should be nonunion. They should sound between 25 and 45 years old.”

The report further clarified that the voice name Sky was chosen to indicate a cool, airy, and pleasant sound.

Joanne Jang, in charge of AI model behavior at OpenAI, mentioned that the organization pick enthusiastic actors who willingly collaborate and showcase a demonstration of a sample AI voice to illustrate the lifelike capabilities of the technology.

The voice-over artist revealed, “[W]hile that was unknown and honestly kinda scary territory for me as a conventional voice over actor, it is an inevitable step toward the wave of the future.”
