UN calls to stop ‘horror’ in Gaza’s city Rafah
UN said Rafah has turned into hell on Earth

The UN Secretary-General António Guterres has once again called to stop the ongoing war crimes in Gaza.

As per CNN, the UN chief issued a strong condemnation of war crimes in Gaza and said, “There is no safe place in Gaza. This horror must stop.”

According to a UN diplomat, the UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday, May 28, to discuss the strike.

The commissioner-general of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, stated, “Children and women living in tented plastic makeshift shelters are among the killed, (others were) reportedly burnt to death.”

He added, “The images from last night are a testament to how Rafah has turned into hell on Earth.”

Additionally, the Hamas-controlled health ministry in Gaza has notified that at least 45 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike, what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described as a ‘tragic mistake’ on the safe area tent camps on May 26.

The UN relief chief Martin Griffiths also criticized Netanyahu’s response to the attack on Rafah, saying, “Whether the attack was a war crime or a 'tragic mistake' for the people of Gaza, there is no debate. What happened last night was the latest, and possibly most cruel, abomination.”
