Protests erupt outside Capitol Hill as Netanyahu speaks

Benjamin Netanyahu called anti-Gaza war protestors ‘Iran’s useful idiots’

Massive protests erupted after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, to address the US Congress on Wednesday, July 24.

According to BBC, a large number of protestors gathered outside and even inside Capitol Hill against Netanyahu and the Israeli mass killing in Gaza.

The pro-Palestinian protestors had already declared ‘a day of rage’ during the Israeli head of state visit, and they delivered it.

Moreover, the protestors hung the Palestinian flag on the towering pole of the Union Station, a historic building next to the US Capitol, and set the American flag on fire.

As per police, five people were arrested inside the Capitol building who were attempting to disrupt Netanyahu’s address.

Numerous Democrats did not attend the Israeli prime minister’s address, whereas a Palestinian-American representative, Rashida Talib, held up a sign board that read ‘guilty of genocide’ on one side and ‘war criminal’ on the other while wearing Keffiyeh.

Netanyahu called protestors ‘Iran’s Idiot’

Netanyahu called the pro-Palestinian demonstrators idiots during his speech. He said, “Many choose to stand with evil. They stand with Hamas. They stand with rapists and murderers. These protesters stand with them. They should be ashamed of themselves.”

He further added that ‘tyrants of Tehran’ are “Promoting and funding you; you have officially become Iran’s useful idiots.”
