In light of recent remarks made by Elon Musk about their daughter, his ex partner Grimes has voiced her support for Vivian Jenna Wilson.

On July 25, Grimes took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express her unwavering pride in Vivian, stating, "I love and am forever endlessly proud of Vivian."

Grimes shares three children with Musk: X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus.

Musk had previously made controversial statements regarding Vivian's transition. In an interview with the Daily Wire published on July 23, he claimed that he was misled into consenting to her gender-affirming treatment, alleging that he was told she might commit suicide if he didn't agree.

Vivian, however, responded strongly to her father's accusations.

In an interview with NBC News published on July 25, the 20-year-old emphasised, "I think he was under the assumption that I wasn’t going to say anything and I would just let this go unchallenged. Which I’m not going to do, because if you’re going to lie about me, like, blatantly to an audience of millions, I’m not just gonna let that slide."

Vivian, who legally changed her name at 18, highlighted her independence, saying, "I am an adult. I am 20 years old. I am not a child. My life should be defined by my own choices."

She also reflected on her strained relationship with Musk, noting that their estrangement began long before her transition at age 16.

Vivian described Musk as "uncaring and narcissistic," recalling an incident from her childhood where he berated her for her tone of voice.
