Buckingham Palace has shared a delightful update after sending an invitation to Prince Harry.
The official Instagram handle of the British Royal Family dropped a heartfelt update on Monday, July 27, sharing that Prince Edward has been showing support for the athletes at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
In the post, Buckingham Palace also described the Games as “incredible,” noting that the event has been great so far.
“What an incredible Games it has been so far! As Vice-Patron of Commonwealth Sport, The Duke of Edinburgh has been out and about at several @Glasgow_2026 events, showing his support for the athletes,” stated the caption.
The palace also sent heartfelt congratulations to British Paralympic powerlifter Mark Swan on his exciting victory, writing, “Congratulations to England’s Para Powerlifter @MarkSwan_7, who won the first gold medal of the Games.”
Accompanying the caption was a carousel of photos that opened with a shot showing the Duke of Edinburgh presenting the gold medal to Mark.

Buckingham Palace’s new invitation to Prince Harry
The latest update from King Charles’s office comes after The Sun reported that Prince Harry is set to return to the UK once again in the coming months to attend engagements linked with WellChild Awards 2026.
The Duke of Sussex, who was offered accommodation at Buckingham Palace during his recent UK trip earlier this month but failed to avail it due to missing the deadline to accept the offer, is likely to be invited to stay at King Charles’ residence once again.
And according to sources close to Harry, he will be accepting the stay offer this time in advance to avoid any controversy like the last time.
