Emraan Hashmi has stated that Bollywood 'needs to learn' from the South industry.

Chatting with The Times of India recently, the actor said that he had neither imagined himself signing up for South Indian cinema and nor thought that he would have to take a villain’s role at one point.

Last year, Emraan starred as an antagonist in YRF’s hit franchise, Tiger 3, and will soon be making his Telugu debut with a movie named OG.

He revealed that he was “lured” to switch industries because of three things: better written characters, enormous canvas, and director Sujeeth’s “great” vision.

Emraan added, “I think south filmmakers are way more disciplined than we are. Every penny that they spend on their film shows on screen.”

According to Emraan, the Hindi cinema is 'misusing' money by spending a large chunk of it on the wrong departments, which have no contribution in making the screen better.

On the other hand, he believes that the South is much more ethical and logical with the amount they invest on films, especially their visual effects end up looking extraordinary in the final cut.
