Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu announce ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’
‘Citadel’ Indian spinoff will debut in 2024

Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu have given out the title for their upcoming spinoff of the Citadel series by unveiling its first poster.

The two were present at Amazon Prime Video’s slate announcement event for 2024, where it was announced that the Indian version of the show has been named Citadel: Honey Bunny.

A hard-heated poster has been released, which shows the leads in a rugged look, fiercely pointing guns in opposite directions, as if at each other.

This might be a subtle hint that their characters are positioned against each other since it was revealed in the first American season that Varun is playing a terrorist named Rahi Gambhir.

Keeping that information in mind, fans have predicted that Samantha will be possibly seen as an agent tracking him down.

Originally, the series is also set in America with Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden rolled in as protagonists.

In its fifth episode, Varun had made a cameo that featured his voice on a phone call. His character is disclosed to be the father of Priyanka’s character, Nadia Sinh.

Citadel will additionally air instalments settled in Spain, Italy, and Mexico.

While Italy’s spinoff has been titled Citadel: Diana, the name Citadel: Honey Bunny for its Indian launch reminds people of The Honey Bunny song used by Idea Cellular in an immensely popular 2012 advertisement.

It also stars Saquib Saleem, Kay Kay Menon, and Sikandar Kher.
