Kareena Kapoor dumbs down ‘Choli Ke Peeche’ in remake attempt
‘Crew’ fails to recreate Madhuri Dixit’s fire

Crew makers have unveiled the third song on their movie’s soundtrack, which has landed as a lazy remake of the mighty popular item number, Choli Ke Peeche, from Khal Nayak.

The video is similar to ones created for their previously released tracks, Naina and Ghagra, where several scenes from the film have been merged together with some shots of Kareena Kapoor dancing in between.

This time, she is seen daringly wave around another club in a silky pink saree, even pick-pocketing a man for his wallet at some point.

Cinema buffs however have expressed utmost contempt for Bollywood needlessly mixing Punjabi in every other song, taking the rehashed melody further away from its actual copy.

Originally, Choli Ke Peeche had a true Rajasthani core with all dancers styled appropriately to represent this particular ethnicity.

It starred Madhuri Dixit, who not only swirled around the dance floor, but perfectly managed to pull many technical steps, such as remaining balanced on one foot while her hands along with the other foot moved in circular motion.

Fans say that whenever filmmakers aim for a remake, they should at least maintain a similar appetite for quality if not aiming for better.

So far, Crew has merely presented utterly modernized and simplified numbers, especially when it came to carrying singer Ila Arun’s legacy forward.
