Dua Lipa shares hilarious incident about her parents in ‘SNL’ monologue

Dua Lipa made her debut performance at 'Saturday Night Live' on May 4, 2024

Dua Lipa took a moment to express gratitude towards her "supportive parents” during her Saturday Night Live (SNL) monologue.

The Illusion songstress made her debut performance at SNL on Saturday night, May 4, with her parents in the audience.

In her hosting stint, Lipa showed gratitude towards her parent as she began the homage by reflecting on a hilarious incident.

She shared, “As you can see, they're kind of cool. They love to party.”

Lipa continued, "One night, I was out with my friends and we ended up at the club at 3 in the morning. And who do I bump into but my parents!"

"Which was embarrassing," adding, "Because the last thing you want to see when you're super high and drunk off your ass is your daughter,” the One Kiss singer noted.

The joke made both her parents chuckle as the camera shifted to them and they both were enjoying the banter.

"But really, they have always been so supportive," the Levitating chart-topper added.

She further said, "They let me move from Kosova to London when I was just 15 to start my career, and now my third album just dropped, and it’s called Radical Optimism."

During her SNL monologue, Dua Lipa discussed the concept behind the title of her third studio album, Radical Optimism, which debuted on Friday, May 3, describing it as "looking on the bright side of any situation."
