Katy Perry was absent from this year's Met Gala, but the internet abuzz with a surprising twist as an AI-generated image of her at the event caused a stir.
The American Idol judge took to her Instagram account to clarify the misleading, AI-generated photos of her from this year’s Met Gala.
In fake images, Perry wore a glamorous ivory ball gown embroidered with flowers and moss, complementing this year’s “Garden of Time” theme.
Another image from her shared carousel showcased her wearing a metallic bodice featuring a prominent key at the center of her chest.
Her skirt consisted of a combination of grass, flowers, and green stems.
The Roar singer also posted a screenshot of her mother’s chat who also got fooled and complimented her look.
Perry’s mom praised her look and she replied, “lol mom the AI got you too, BEWARE.”
She also included a video of herself in a recording studio, to show that she is busy with her work and couldn’t attend the star-studded event.
The Dark Horse hitmaker captioned her post, “couldn’t make it to the MET, had to work.”
Soon after Katy Perry shared the post, her fans flooded the comment section to express their astonishment.
