Cristiano Ronaldo surpassed Lionel Messi in the highest-paid athlete list

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are among the top five highest-paid athletes as per Forbes' annual ranking.

Forbes has recently shared a list of the world’s ten highest-paid athletes in 2024, and Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the list for the fourth time in his career.

As per Forbes the Portuguese footballer became the world's highest-paid athlete after he became part of Saudi Arabian Al Nassr team.

The Al Nassr player’s total estimated earnings for the year were around $260m (£205m) which is the highest of all time for any footballer.

CR7's on-field earnings amounted to $200m (£158m) while off field he earned $60m (£47m).

Spanish golfer John Rahm took second place with $218m (£172m) and joined Ronaldo as the only two athletes to earn over $200m.
