David Beckham lauds Lionel Messi's first year at Inter Miami

Inter Miami owner David Beckham paid glowing tribute to Lionel Messi's first year with his club.

The former footballer took to his Instagram to celebrate the most decorated star footballer’s one-year anniversary with his club.

Along with a heartfelt video, Beckham wrote, “When we wrote ‘Freedom to Dream’ as our club’s motto, THIS is exactly what we meant… 1 year since Leo’s debut in the pink of Miami.”

Beckham made history in Major League Soccer (MLS) last year by signing Messi for Inter Miami until 2025.

The former England captain once revealed, “One of the reasons we wanted to bring him to America was to inspire the next generation. That was my plan. I obviously wanted to bring him for the player he is and the person he is."

Football fans were happy to see two of the football legends together. A fan wrote, “David, you changed American football by bringing Messi to America. Messi and David's couple is the best possible couple.”

Meanwhile, the other commented, “Messi is the best, and so are you, David!!!”
