Alec Baldwin's Rust case's jurors are opening up about their views on the case.

On Friday, July 12, the case against the Rust actor was dismissed when his defense attorneys successfully argued that prosecutors had concealed the evidence.

One of the jurors, Gabriela Picayo, who served as juror no. 9 during the case, revealed in an interview with the New York Times that Baldwin, being an actor, should not have been held accountable for extensive gun safety knowledge.

"I think he would have trusted the people, you know, on the set to do their job," said Picayo.

Reflecting on Rust's armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed's prior conviction of involuntary manslaughter, Picayo expressed, "I'm still here; I'm still open to hearing and obviously trying to stay unbiased," adding that she thought this all was "very silly" and how the 97 minutes actor should "not be on trial."

Moreover, juror no. 7, Johanna Haag, also shared that she felt skeptical regarding the prosecution's case against Baldwin.

Telling the Times that the case didn't seem like a "very strong" one, Haag recalled when the prosecution showed footage of the scene to the jury and said, "[Baldwin] looked shocked and stunned and so sad."

"It was clearly an accident," told the juror, continuing, "the idea that there's anything purposeful, or the idea that there was this grave carelessness that caused this, didn't seem realistic to me."

Haag revealed that she started feeling "sorry" for Baldwin when the jury was ordered to return on Monday, but later they received the court's text that stated "Trail CANCELLED," as the case was abruptly dismissed.

In October 2021, during a scene rehearsal on the set of Rust, Baldwin unintentionally discharged a gun he was handling, leading to the tragic death of cinematographer Haylna Hutchins and injuries to the film's director.

Later in the interviews, Baldwin insisted that neither he pulled the trigger intentionally nor he knew that the firearm was loaded with live ammunition.
