Kevin Smith has finally opened up about his final conversation with the late star Shannen Doherty.

Shannen, who passed away on July 13 after battling with cancer for 13 years, apparently wanted to join Kevin for comedy film Mallrats.

On July 27, the 53-year-old filmmaker reflected on his last chat with the Charmed actress during a conversation with People magazine.

Kevin revealed, “It was weird when it came out, it didn't do well. But when we first came to the Comic-Con 29 years ago, man, we were embraced and we were largely embraced because of her, because she had the credibility in the crowd,” admitting that “she drew the attention.”

He admitted that she “drew the attention” and that time many famous people wouldn't come to Comic-Con.

Before Shannen died, the duo discussed the screening of the director's eight films including Mallrats.

Kevin shared, "The last conversations we were having was about her coming out to Jersey for the Vulgarathon because she had done a bunch of cons and whatnot, and she met the Mallrats contingency and stuff."

Furthermore, the director also noted that Shannen once went with him to the fan convention in 1995 to promote their comedy movie.
