King Charles addresses ‘dark times’ in Canada amid wildfires

King Charles mourned the destruction in Jasper National Park

King Charles and Queen Camilla have reported of being “immensely saddened” by massive wildfires destructing Canada’s Jasper National Park.

In a sorrowful note shared on Tuesday, July 30, Your Majesty said that the hot tourist spot in Alberta happens to be a “truly magical place” that has long-captivated visitors from all over the world.

He then expressed sympathy for those lives and livelihoods that have been exposed to unexpected losses, especially of being forced out of the land.

But on the other hand, King Charles wrote that he’s grateful to those first-responders, leaders, and volunteers who quickly dived into this natural tragedy for offering a big helping hand.

According to The Star, Canadian federal officials have informed that around one-third of Jasper’s buildings were lost in those gigantic flames.

About 25,000 people, which includes 5,000 town residents, were asked to evacuate the area over one week ago as the blaze approached them rapidly.

Even firefighters and rescue teams couldn’t do much to control a fire so large and powerful.

“These are dark times, but we greatly admire the strength and resilience of so many people to persevere and rebuild,” King Charles stated.
