BLACKPINK Jisoo is all set to take on zombies in the upcoming thriller Newtopia!
On Thursday, August 1, the South Korean streaming service Coupang Play announced via their official Instagram handle that the upcoming Korean thriller series Newtopia, featuring Jisoo and Park Jeong Min, will be released in 2025.
The announcement post, displaying images of both lead actors, had Korean text stating, “Casting announced and scheduled to release in 2025. Newtopia.”
“The day we parted, zombies took over the world,” read the translated caption of the post.
It further added, "We finally saw it! Casting the next generation of K-Zombies! Soldier Park Jungmin X Kimshin Jisoo. Newtopia. First still released.”
The series, set against the backdrop of zombie-infested Seoul, follows the story of two lovers played by the Snowdrop actress and Park Jeong Min. The Start-Up actor will portray a man who will encounter the zombies during his mandatory military service, while Jisoo plays his girlfriend, an engineer who is starting a new job and eagerly awaiting his return to the city.
Newtopia, which promises to deliver a thrilling storyline, is slated to premiere in 2025 by Coupang Play.
