During a chaotic interview at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) event on July 31, former President Donald Trump drew attention for an unusual incident involving a water bottle.

Despite the interview being marked by controversial statements and a premature end, it was a seemingly minor moment that captured widespread interest.

Trump, who was slated to speak for an hour, was cut off after approximately 35 minutes. Throughout the interview, he made a controversial claim about Kamala Harris's race, wrongly stating that Harris had recently “become a Black woman.”

However, amid the interview's tense atmosphere, a seemingly trivial detail caught viewers’ attention. At one point, Trump reached for a water bottle not intended for him.

The bottle, which was closer to ABC journalist Rachel Scott, was picked up by Trump despite a bottle closer to him. This action led to varied interpretations on social media.

However, some viewers perceived the move as a minor oversight, while others saw it as a possible power play.

Meanwhile, reactions on social media were mixed, with some questioning if Trump had taken the host’s water bottle and tightened the cap, while others suggested he might have simply opened it for Scott.
