Kamala Harris campaign breaks fundraising records in July

Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign outpaced former President Donald Trump’s in July fundraising

In a surprising turn, Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign announced on Friday that it raised $310 million in July, significantly outpacing former President Donald Trump’s $138.7 million for the same period.

This impressive fundraising effort followed President Joe Biden's endorsement of Harris and his exit from the race.

As per Reuters, the July total brings Harris's combined campaign funds with Biden to over $1 billion, marking the fastest accumulation of such a large sum in presidential campaign history.

Harris's candidacy invigorated Democratic voters and donors, transforming what was expected to be a lackluster fundraising month. Over $200 million of the July total came in the first week following Biden’s endorsement.

The campaign highlighted that two-thirds of July's donations were from first-time donors, with 94% of contributions being $200 or less.

Despite Trump's 24% increase in July fundraising compared to June, recent poll leads, Harris's entry into the race has shifted dynamics, with new polls indicating a closer contest.
