King Charles III and Queen Camilla have made a surprise move to increase their source of income before hosting the royal family for the summer holiday.
As the weekend hours hit the world, GB News reported that Their Majesties have sold their homebred racehorse Point Of Law to leading Australian trainer Ciaron Maher.
The deal has been made as the royal couple believed that it could yield a remarkable payday on the other side of the world.
However, the amount the race has been sold to Maher is yet to be announced, as he intends to target the Caulfield Cup in Melbourne this spring, one of Australia's most prestigious staying races.
The horse has also delivered an iconic performance during the 2026 Royal Ascot, where it earned a historic royal triumph.
Maher himself had been present at the royal meeting as a guest of the King, attending alongside his mother Eileen.
The Australian trainer clearly saw enough during that visit to pursue the horse, and the Bahrain Trophy performance only strengthened his conviction.
Royal Family's summer holiday plans
This royal update came after the 78-year-old revealed the details of his upcoming Summer Holiday plans with the royal family members.
On Wednesday, Balmoral Castle turned to its official Instagram account to announce that the royal residence has been closed to the public ahead of the royal family’s summer holiday plans.
Every year in the summer, King Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, hosted lavish summer holidays for the senior working royals, including Prince William, his partner, Kate Middleton and their three kids.
However, fans also suggested that His Majesty might invite Prince Harry to the Castle as he will travel to the United Kingdom in September, and has already accepted his offer to stay at Buckingham Palace.
So far, King Charles has yet to announce his summer holiday plans.
