Vikrant Massey, who recently created waves with his empowering performance in hit film 12 Fail, explained why he left Television at the peak of his career because of his friends’ attitude.
During his interview with the Samdish Bhatia, the Haseen Dilruba actor recalled an emotional instance with his friend, which seemingly changed the way he looked at success. "There was an incident where I invited people to my home, my friends, who were very close friends, and I am proud of it. I am not ashamed of it," he said.
Massey noted, "I am telling you about people's mindset. As my mother cooks very well, so, I said, "Come home, guys. I've invited everyone for dinner."
He continued, “When they saw the condition of the house, they noticed that there were plastic chairs at home, paint was chipping off, there were water stains on the ceiling, and the kitchen wasn't aesthetically clean according to their standards, so from the next day, their behavior towards me changed. Of course, I could see the discomfort.”
Vikrant Massey went on to share the heartbreaking details, “So, what happened was that I earned a lot of money on TV. I mean, at the age of 24, I bought my first house.”
He continued, “I was making a lot of money. For a guy whose household expenses were covered by his father's salary for 15 days, crisis management would start from the 16th day, 35 lakh rupees is a lot of money per month.”
However, the Mirzapur alum admitted that, “I left it. I said, "No, buddy, money isn't giving me peace of mind." Now, let's try to find some peace by doing good work, and that's how it started.”
This confession comes shortly after Vikrant Massey received Best Actor Critics’ Award at 2024 FilmFare held on Sunday for his role in Vidhu Vinod’s directorial biopic, 12th Fail.
