Salman Khan has mistakenly labeled Kiran Rao’s new flick, Laapataa Ladies, as her directorial debut, even though he attended the party for her first film, Dhobi Ghat, in 2010.
After having watched the latest production, the superstar hopped on X to give his verdict on March 13, writing, “Just saw Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies. I really enjoyed it and so did my father.”
He had however playfully added, “Congrats on your debut as a director, superb job. Kab kaam karogi mere saath?”

Noting this, fans quickly jumped on the bandwagon to have a blast with Salman’s erroneous confusion.
They first asked how could he forget attending the celebratory bash that the filmmaker had hosted for her first-ever flick 13 years ago.
A dutiful user wrote, “Bro, you literally attended the function for Dhobi Ghat,” and even added pictures taken on the occasion as evidence.
Next, some people decided to keep the fun going by posting some hilarious thoughts.
“Bhai, yeh Behan ka debut nahin hai,” one reminded.
Another proposed, “Bhai doesn't consider Dhobi Ghat as a movie!”
Someone even took the madness one step further when he mistook Kiran for a man, tweeting, “Salman bhai, Kiran Rao had made her directorial debut 14 years ago with the movie Dhobi Ghat. It was his first film as a director (thumbs-up emoji).”
