Saudi Arabia shocks the internet by announcing its first ever participation in the forthcoming Miss Universe beauty pageant.
The renowned model of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Rumy Alqahtani, shared the exciting news on her Instagram account on Monday.
Alongside a photo of her in an off-shoulder sequined gown, with a crown on her head, holding the Saudi flag, Alqahtani wrote, “I am honoured to participate in the Miss Universe 2024 competition. This is the first participation of Saudi Arabia in the Miss Universe competition.”
On Tuesday, Alqahtani turned to her Instagram account once again to thank her fans for the overwhelming response on her recent announcement.
In her new post, Alqahtani wore a satin maxi in magenta pink color, which only had one baggy sleeve.
She also rocked a sparkling silver crown in the photos, which were accompanied by a sweet note, “I hold in my hands the colors of gratitude and love, And in my heart, appreciation and praise to all my friends around the world.”
She continued, “this support that made me happy in gathering social media, and I hope to be in good faith, and I am happy because I am the first Miss Saudi Arabia to represent my country in international competitions (I love you), Thank you to all my friends for supporting and your love you. I love you all.”
As reported by the Khaleej Times, Rumy Alqahtani has attended numerous global pageants, and was most recently appeared in Miss and Mrs Global Asian in Malaysia.
