Lionel Messi reveals his retirement plan
Lionel Messi has said that he will take retirement the moment he will not be able to deliver

Lionel Messi on Wednesday, March 27, revealed that he does not see his increasing age as a factor in deciding the end of his career.

The 38-year-old Argentinian star footballer, in an interview with the Big Tine Podcast, said that he has not yet thought about when he will retire, CNN reported.

Messi said, “The truth is I haven’t thought about it yet. Today, I try to enjoy it day-by-day, enjoy every moment without thinking about it more than that.”

The sportsman also expressed that he wanted to ‘keep playing’ for a while, saying, “I don’t have anything clear yet but to keep playing, which is what I’d like to do for a while longer."

"When the moment arrives, surely I’ll find the path to whatever fills me with joy and I enjoy it and it’ll be a new role."

Talking about the factors that will be involved in his retirement decision, Messi said, “The moment that I’m not at the level to deliver, that I’m not enjoying it, that I’m not helping my teammates."

"Like I said before at the beginning, I’m very self-critical with myself. I know when I’m good or when I’m bad, when I play well or when I play badly, and when I feel that moment to take that step, I will without thinking about my age," Messi added.

He also said, “If I feel good, I will always keep trying to compete because it’s what I like and what I know how to do.”

Lionel Messi is regarded as the G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Time) by his fans; he has won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina, four Champions League and four La Liga titles with Barcelona, and eight Ballon d’Or Awards.
