Kriti Sanon speaks in favor of women-centric films amid ‘Crew’ success

Kriti Sanon, who is currently in awe of her recently released film, Crew, which created quite a buzz at the box office, talked in favour of women-centric films.

Kriti while expressing hopes that the success of movies like Crew will create more room for the women-led films, noted, “A film doesn't have to be led by a man to pull the audience to the theatre."

She continued, "For the longest time, people have not taken the risk of scaling female-oriented films as they do for male-centric ones. They feel audiences won't come to the theatre, and they won't recover the money."

Kriti further added, "This is sort of a start of a change, I am hoping, at least. Slowly, I hope people will come out and risk putting money and scaling a woman-led film as much as they do for male-led films because that also translates to the same amount of numbers at the box office."

Since its release on March 29, 2024, Crew garnered immense praises from the fans and critics. Besides Kriti Sanon, the leading cast of the film also includes Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tabu.

Crew is a comedy film that depicts the tale of a heist carried out by three air hostesses, who take fate in their own hands when their airline goes bankrupt.
