King Charles and Queen Camilla have joined Prince William and Kate Middleton in showing grief for the victims who were attacked in Sydney’s recent knife rampage.
Floating a statement across their social media profiles, the Monarch said, “My wife and I were utterly shocked and horrified to hear of the tragic stabbing incident in Bondi.”
“Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those who have been so brutally killed during such a senseless attack,” he added while extending gratitude to the emergency services that quickly dealt with the situation.
On Saturday, April 13, a 40-year-old man lunged at nine people with a knife at the Westfield shopping center during the afternoon.
According to Telegraph, he was shot down by an off-duty police officer, but had already managed to wound his victims, including a nine-month-old baby and the mother.
A witness who helped them reported to 9News Sydney, “The baby got stabbed. The mum got stabbed and came over with a baby and threw it at me... I was holding the baby, it looked pretty bad.”
While some observers have thanked King Charles for showing concern, others have called him out on his silence over much graver matters.
“And what about being shocked about the genocide that is ongoing with the Palestinians in Gaza!!!! U doubled faced hypocrites!!!” a commentator reacted.
