Prince Harry addressed an emotive letter to orphaned kids in the US while drawing connections with late mother, Princess Diana.
In his personal note written for the orphaned British children for Remembrance Sunday 2022, he discussed the grave distress of loss with reference to the death of Diana, who had passed away in a car crash when the Duke was just 12 years old.
Mirror quoted him saying, “We share a bond…because we share in having lost a parent. I know first-hand the pain and grief that comes with loss… you are not alone.”
“While difficult feelings will come up today as we pay tribute to heroes like your mum or dad, I hope you can find comfort and strength in knowing that their love for you lives and shines on,” he added.
Then, Harry pitched an anecdote to the younglings, suggesting that they should learn to share their grief with friends instead of drowning in them alone in seclusion.
“Whenever you need a reminder of this, I encourage you to lean into your friends at Scotty's Little Soldiers,” he mentioned, referring to the charity organization that’s dedicated to supporting children wo have lost their parents in war.
The Duke of Sussex concluded by hinting at a silver lining: “We all know some days are harder than others but together those days are made easier.”
