Amar Singh Chamkila’s first wife, Gurmail Kaur, has opened up about meeting him and second beau, Amarjot Kaur, only a few days before their assassination.
Appearing on Cine Punjabi’s YouTube channel recently, she revealed of having already sensed that something bad is about to happen when the couple came to pay her a visit.
This was when Amarjot was helping prepare food by chopping vegetables.
Speaking about their sad demise, Gurmail termed it as “a very difficult time” in her life since it shook her financially as she could only manage earning a wage of 5 rupees per day.
None of Chamkila’s well-wishes came forward to offer help either, even though everyone had famously known that he had another wife who is alive and was dependent on him.
“I was so proud of him. He was so famous, I had nothing to worry about,” Gurmail expressed, adding that she however never got a chance to observe one of his akaadas.
According to her, the late singer had fulfilled all his responsibilities to both her and their children, including purchasing a piece of land in their name.
This was despite him having tied the knot to Amarjot and having a son with her as well.
