AB de Villiers reacted after Virat Kohli was controversially given out in the Indian Premier League on Sunday, April 21.

After a thrilling match, Kolkata Knight Rider (KKR) won by a run against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens Kolkata.

However, the thrilling win was overshadowed by Virat Kohli’s controversial dismissal.

RCB’s Virat Kohli was out for 18 off 7 balls while chasing a 223-run target.

He was caught by Harshit Rana on his own high full-toss ball in the third over of the match.

Kohli went for a review as he thought the ball was a waist-high full toss, no ball.

Meanwhile, when the TV umpire Michael Gough checked the height of the ball through Hawk-Eye ball tracking technology the delivery was found legal for the height.

Unhappy, Kohli angrily walked back to the pavilion, but the umpire’s decision and new technology have sparked controversy and debate in the cricketing world.

Former RCB player and Mr. 360, AB de Villiers, also took to X to express his dissatisfaction and frustration.

A former South African player wrote, “Grey areas in the game open up room for anger and confusion. It’s not a tough fix for this. Get the batter’s stance, draw the lines and use ball tracking. No confusion whatsoever.”

Devilliers also call for the proper use of technology, saying, “For goodness’ sake, PLEASE just clarify the wide ruling in Cricket! Really not so difficult... We have technology; let’s use it properly.”
