Eminem is celebrating 16 years of sobriety!

Eminem, who has been candid about his struggles with addiction in the past, took to his Instagram and X accounts to share his gratitude and excitement over this achievement.

"Clean dozen plus four," he tweeted, along with a photo a custom-made "sobriety chip" embedded with a special microchip that plays a snippet of his hit song Not Afraid when pressed.

Soon after he shared the photo of the coin featuring the number 16 written inside a triangle with the words “Unity,” “Service” and “Recovery” on his Instagram, Eminem's brother Nathan Samra-Mathers commented, “Greatest Influence and Mentor.”

While the Oscar-nominated filmmaker Matthew Cooke also praised the Slim Shady rapper noting, “Well done brother. Huge.”

The idea for the chip came from a collaboration between Eminem and a technology startup based in Detroit.

The chip, resembling a standard sobriety token but with a high-tech twist, is a wearable device that Eminem can carry with him as a symbol of his commitment to sobriety.

Eminem's music has also often reflected this personal turmoil, with songs like Not Afraid and Cleanin' Out My Closet addressing his struggles with the addiction.
