Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik celebrated the achievements of workers as he puts forward his dream journey to becoming cricketer this Labour Day.
On May 1, 2024 Malik revealed his sense of urgency for renewed commitment towards social justice.
“ Labour Day reminds me of my own journey from a young boy to a dream to a cricketer who wore the Pakistani jersey with pride,” Shoaib Malik said.
He added, “ I salute the workers, the backbone of our nation, who work tirelessly to build our country. Your hard work is an inspiration for the youth."
The netizens however did not take Malik’s statement in a good light and began bashing him.
One netizen wrote, "I think that labour day reminds you of marrying three times..."
Another penned, "Try not to make a public holiday about yourself challenge (impossible).”
Shoaib Malik first married former ace tennis professional Sania Mirza in 2010 but the marriage therefore took an unfortunate turn.
After divorcing Mirza, the cricketer made headlines with his surprise wedding to actress Sana Javed this year.
