Prince Harry is understood to be ‘totally estranged’ from the royal family, including father King Charles and specially brother Prince William, according to an old pal of his.
The Duke of Sussex returned to the UK this week to attend the 10th anniversary service of the Invictus Games, however, neither King Charles nor Prince William made any effort to meet Harry.
In fact, Harry’s spokesperson confirmed that the monarch would not meet him because of his ‘full diary’, despite the fact that Charles was hosting a garden party just three miles from Harry’s Invictus service on Wednesday, May 8.
Royal expert Tom Quinn weighed in on just how damaged the relationship between Prince Harry and the royal family in a chat with Mirror UK¸ in which he shared what an old Army friend of Harry’s told him about the Duke’s short visit.
“The Invictus Games is just about the only thing that would have got him back in the country – and even then, it was touch and go. That's how strongly he feels about even being in the same country as his father and brother. It is total estrangement,” the unnamed friend allegedly told Quinn.
Quinn also shared his own thoughts on Prince Harry’s statement on not being able to meet King Charles, saying, “It's a shocking statement and shows just how damaged the relationship is. Harry has hardly seen his father since he and Meghan left for America in 2020 and with his father seriously ill you might think his first port of call on returning to the UK would be Clarence House... But no.”
