Meta is continuing its innovation streak with WhatsApp, as the company tests a new feature aimed at enhancing user's privacy.

The company is currently testing a feature that prevents iPhone users from taking screenshots of a user’s profile photo to further enhance the privacy of its users.

However, this feature, already available on Android, prevents users from taking screenshots of other's profile photos.

As reported by WABetaInfo, this feature is now in testing on the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS (version 24.10.10.70).

If a user attempts to capture a screenshot of a profile picture on iPhone, WhatsApp will display a message, "Screenshot capture blocked," emphasizing privacy protection.

While, WhatsApp already allows users to configure profile picture visibility and offers an option to hide it from unknown numbers.

Despite the upcoming update allowing viewing of public profile pictures, it will block screenshot capture by default, with no option for disabling.

Moreover, WhatsApp has been introducing a lot of new security-related features to make it a safe platform, and it also offers capabilities like end-to-end encryption and encrypted chat backup to ensure that only users can access their chats and media.
