Zayn Malik had been reflecting on his engagement with ex-fiancé, Perrie Edwards, and personal growth.
The pop icon recently made some remarks about his engagement to Little Mix star Perrie during a discussion in NYLON magazine.
Zayn, 31, said, “From 17 to 21, I was in a relationship," he shares. "I was engaged and [planned to get] married and I didn't know anything about anything at that point. I thought I did, because I was 21. I was legally allowed to do everything, but I didn't know (expletive)."
The pair got engaged in August 2013 after more than one year of dating and they parted ways in August 2015.
As of now, Perrie is engaged to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with whom she shares a son.
The former member of One Direction further told the media outlet, "From 21 to 27, I was with Gi, and we had a kid, and I didn't really take much time to get to know myself,” adding, “I’m really content and happy with being single for the first time in my life.”
Furthermore, Zayn claimed last week that he doesn't know if he has “ever actually truly been in love at this point” during an interview on the Zach Sang Show.
