Ali Wong has revealed the sweet story of how Bill Hader won her heart, soon after her divorce from Justin Hakuta.
During her Netflix Is a Joke Fest show on May 12, the Beef actress shared that it all started with a surprise phone call from Bill.
She noted,"I get a phone call from this guy who I met at a dinner party in the past, and he got my number from a mutual friend."
Ali continued went on to share, “He was like, ‘Hey, I just happened to hear the news about your divorce, and I've had a crush on you forever. I actually told my best friend years ago that you were my dream girl, and I know it sounds crazy, but I want you to be my girlfriend.”
The Always Be My Maybe actress further shared that Bill Hader's romantic gestures didn't end with a simple phone call.
When she went on vacation to Europe shortly after that, Bill sent her flowers to every hotel she stayed at.
However, the comedian’s male friends gave her mixed opinions about Hader's gestures.
She jokingly commented, "That's how cheap and lazy men have become. When a fellow man commits any act of kindness, any romantic gesture, it must be a symptom of an undiagnosed mental illness."
On the unversed, Ali Wong, who parted her ways with Justin in April 2022, had started dating Bill Hader later that year, but their romance was short-lived, and ended after two months.
However, they got back together again in April 2023 and have been inseparable ever since.
