Kevin Costner struggled to control his emotions as his most-awaited movie Horizon: An American Saga received a seven-minute standing ovation at Cannes on Sunday.

Kevin got overwhelmed as the crowd chanted “Kevin! Kevin! Kevin!” to show its support.

During the monologue, the Yellowstone star expressed gratitude to fans and promised them “three more” installments of the Horizon franchise.

He laughed and said, “I’m sorry you had to clap that long for me to understand that I should speak.”

Kevin further added, “Such good people. Such a good moment, not just for me, but for the actors that came with me, for people who believed in me who continued to work. It’s a funny business, and I’m so glad I found it. There’s no place like here. I’ll never forget this — neither will my children.”

The Highwaymen actor also noted that his experience in Cannes was more special due his kids, who stood by his side at the festival.

Kevin continued to talk about his passion project, "I made this. It's not mine anymore. It's yours. I knew that the minute this was over and that's what it should be. I think movies aren't about their opening weekends. They're about their life and about how many times you're willing to share it."

The veteran actor and film producer invested a significant amount of his own wealth for the upcoming movie.

Horizon: An American Saga will hit theatres on June 28, 2024.
