Cristiano Ronaldo is set to make history with his record sixth appearance at the European Championship as part of Portugal’s squad.

Team coach Roberto Martínez finalized the 26-player roster on Tuesday, May 21.

Later on, Ronaldo took to his Instagram account and expressed his excitement with a caption, noting, "Proud to be back representing Portugal at Euro. Let's go with it."

CR7 stands at the forefront, having participated in the tournaments of 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020, notably leading the national team to victory in 2016.

Notably, absent are Francisco Trincão, Pedro Gonçalves, and Ricardo Horta, while Raphael Guerreiro was sidelined due to injury.

While, new additions to the squad include Francisco Conceicao and Pedro Neto. Portugal, placed in Group F, will face the Czech Republic, Turkey, and debutants Georgia during the tournament in Germany.

Martínez boasts an impressive record of 11 wins in 12 games as the national team coach.

However, before heading to Germany, Portugal will engage in friendlies against Finland, Croatia, and the Republic of Ireland.
