
Lana Del Rey recently disclosed that she had written a theme song for the James Bond film Spectre however ultimately it passed over in favour of Sam Smith's Writing's On The Wall.
While conversing at the Ivor Novello Awards on Thursday, Lana, who won the Special International Award, was questioned by why she hasn't performed a Bond theme.
The Born To Die hitmaker replied, “I mean, how has that not happened? I wrote [24] for them.”
She continued, “Sam, you did a wonderful job. One day, maybe... But I'm going to continue to do my little Nancy Sinatra thing every now and then and just pretend it's the title track.”
When the BBC asked a question, Briton Raye, who was awarded Songwriter of the Year by Amazon Music that night, commented on Lana, “She just has the perfect energy for it. “
She added, “I feel like she would eat that up – and I feel like that should happen in the future.”
Raye said of herself: 'If they ever approached me, I'd roll over backwards obviously. I don't know how those things happen, but it would be my absolute pleasure.'
To note, Daniel's final movie as Bond was No Time To Die, released in 2021and the theme song, named No Time To Die, was performed by Billie Eilish.
