Kate Middleton and Prince William on Friday, May 25, released a heartfelt new statement expressing ‘incredible sadness’ over a tragic loss.

The Prince and Princess of Wales released a joint statement offering their condolences for the loss of the pilot who died in a plane crash at the Battle of Britain event on May 25, reported OK!

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Kate and William said: “Incredibly sad to hear of the news this afternoon from RAF Coningsby.”

“Our thoughts this evening are with the pilot’s loved ones, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and the wider RAF family,” they continued, signing the message off as W & C, for their initials William and Catherine.

Kate and William’s came soon after the British Ministry of Defence announced the tragic loss of the pilot in a Spitfire crash at the Lincolnshire event.

The ministry's statement read: “It is with great sadness that we must confirm the death of an RAF pilot in a tragic accident near RAF Coningsby today."

While Kate and William issued the statement online, William and their eldest son Prince George, were also seen at the FA Cup final the same day, where they handed the trophy to the winners Manchester United.
