Veteran TV and stage actor Talat Hussain left for his eternal abode on Sunday at the age of 83!

Hussain, who was born on September 18, 1940, passed away after a prolonged illness in Karachi, the state broadcaster of PTV said in a post on X. 

Arts Council of Pakistan(ACP) Karachi president Ahmed Shah too confirmed Hussain’s death, adding that the actor had been in a private hospital undergoing treatment.

In a statement, Shah recalled, “The actor had a deep connection with ACP as he remained a part of its governing body. An acclaimed actor like Talat Hussain is born after centuries.”

As reported by a local media outlet, Hussain had been diagnosed with dementia that made it impossible for him to recognize people and a lot of smoking too hampered the condition of his lungs.

He left a void in the heart of his daughter, Tazeen Hussain who confirmed his death with bated breaths. 

His funeral prayers will be held at Masjid-Ayesha in Defence, Phase 7 after Asr prayers. 

The Bandish actor began his acting career in the 1960’s. In order to brush his skills further in the field Hussain flew to England to study acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.

Notable dramas that starred Talat Hussain include the likes of  Bandish, Karwaan, Hawain and Parchaiyan, while his films include Chiragh Jalta Raha, Gumnaam and Actor in Law.

Many from the entertainment industry offer condolences upon hearing about Talat Hussain’s death.
