Ryan Phillippe has delighted his fans by sharing a nostalgic throwback snap of her former wife Reese Witherspoon.
Taking to his Instagram stories section, the Cruel Intentions star shared an old photo with the Big Little Lies starlet.
He captioned the picture, “We were hot and drenched in late 90's angst @reesewitherspoon. (such a cooler time than today).”
In a photo they shared, the ex-couple is seen with their arms around each other.
The Legally Blonde actress is wearing a black and white striped dress with a high neckline.
Meanwhile, Ryan wore a sleeveless, collared, blue-and-white-striped shirt with black slacks and aviator-style sunglasses.
Reese's hair was cut in a chin-length bob while Ryan's was a mohawk hairstyle.
To note, Reese and Ryan had a first interaction at the Morning Show star's 21st birthday party in 1997.
After two years the former couple was cast in Cruel Intentions together with Selma Blair and then they tied the knot.
They were married for nine years and share two children, daughter Ava, 24, and son Deacon, 20.
Phillippe and Witherspoon separated in October 2006 and issued a joint statement at the time.
A representative said, “We are saddened to announce that Reese and Ryan have decided to formally separate.”
The statement noted, “They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time.”
Reese Witherspoon later married Jim Toth and had a son named Tennessee, who is now 11 years old and in March 2023 they announced their split.
