Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, one of Hollywood's most beloved couples, have never shared the screen together, and the reason might surprise you.

During a recent interview with Comicbook to promote his film Deadpool and Wolverine with Hugh Jackman, Reynolds jokingly spilled about the reason behind not showing his sizzling chemistry with Lively on the big screen.

“I can’t afford her fee,” he jokingly said.

The If actor went on to explain, “You know, in the old days, they all got to work together, hanging out. We got Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn … That’d be nice, I’d love to work with Blake.”

Although, Lively hasn’t appear in any of Reynolds’ movie yet, she has supported and helped him on sets in any way possible.

She made a thoughtful contribution by gifting the production a ping-pong table to help the Deadpool 3 cast relax between scenes.

“Blake [is] the real reason these ping-pong photos came about,” he told the Variety about ping pong photos he posted in his Instagram account in June.

To note, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, who shares 4 kids, tied the knot on September 9, 2012.

Deadpool & Wolverine is slated to hit theaters on Friday, July 26.
