Robert De Niro, Barbra Streisand, and other famous faces have openly reacted to American President Joe Biden stepping down from the ongoing presidential election.
Within hours of the new breaking out yesterday, on June 21, Robert De Niro quickly jumped out to support Vice President Kamala Harris taking Joe Biden’s place to defeat Donald Trump.
Issuing a statement, the actor said, “In an act of shrewd politics and selfless patriotism, Joe Biden is stepping aside to clear the path for another Democrat to become president.”
“There is nothing more important for our country than defeating Donald Trump at the ballot box. With respect, admiration, and affection, thank you Mr. President!” he added.
Meanwhile, singer Barbra Streisand directly expressed her opinion on social media X, writing that Joe Biden “accomplished significant achievements. We should be grateful for his upholding.”
On the other hand was Cher, who felt “tortured” by the current President leaving his seat, but felt glad that he “passed the baton” to endorse Kamala Harris.
Even Billie Eilish’s older brother, Finneas, added to Kamala Harris’ approval rating, as per Independent.
He said, “I see a person putting the people before themselves and their pride today, and for that, I have an enormous amount of respect.”
