Amid Prince Andrew's ongoing dispute with King Charles over the Royal Lodge, it is suggested that Princess Kate would 'fit happily' into the residence.
Michael Cole, a royal scholar, claims that the Prince and Princess of Wales would "fit happily" into Royal Lodge despite an ongoing dispute between King Charles and Prince Andrew, the lodge's present occupant.
While conversing with GB News, the BBC's former royal journalist Martin Daubney shared that the Prince and Princess would make excellent tenants.
âThe King has been trying to persuade his younger brother to move out of Royal Lodge into Frogmore Cottageâ, he said.
Daubney added, âPrince Andrew is sticking fast. He is pointing out that he has a long lease and itâs a repairing lease. Heâs responsible for the repairs, of which many are being made.â
The correspondent continued, âItâs a bit of a standoff at the moment. Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales would fit into Royal Lodge very happily with their three children.â
âThey are making do in Adelaide Cottage, which is not a particularly grand building, in Windsor Park,â he mentioned
Daubney said, âAdelaide Cottage may have echoes of sunny Australia, but it is not a nice place in January or February.â
To note, Following the Queen Mother's 2002 passing, Andrew, who divorced Sarah Ferguson in 1996, purchased a 75-year lease and has been residing in the castle since 2004.
Charles reportedly wanted to move his brother into the former home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Frogmore Cottage.
