Princess Diana once expressed a desire for the world to see the love letters she received from King Charles during their happier times.

According to PEOPLE, Ingrid Seward, a royal biographer, stated during a luncheon hosted by Oldie magazine, “Diana told me very shortly before she died that she wished people could see the love letters that she had from Charles."

"She really wanted people to know that she loved Charles and he loved her. And I always remembered that. And she wanted the boys [Prince William and Prince Harry] to know that," she continued.

The biographer added, “There was a period of great love between them."

Seward added that Princess Diana had mentioned the sentiment of the letter from Prince Charles just before her death in a vehicle crash in Paris in 1997.

The royal analyst stated that Diana wanted "the early days of her romance with the heir to the throne to be properly reflected.”

According to The Times, the People’s Princess was dating Dodi Fayed at the time, who also perished in the tragedy.
